Teaching Our Kidz Safety Education At Home
Home is meant to be a place of comfort and security, where families make precious memories.
However, even the safest homes have areas where kidz shouldn't be left unsupervised.
By identifying potential dangers and implementing safety measures, you can create an environment
where kidz can explore safely. Learn where to keep an extra eye on your little ones.

Home Where Kidz Shouldn't Be Unsupervised
Kitchens:
If your child likes to help you in the heart of the home, it's perfectly fine to let them pull up a stool.
However, kitchens are full of potential hazards, so be careful not to leave them alone while running
to the bathroom or pantry.
Sharp knives, scissors, and hot stoves pose serious risks to curious hands. Additionally, cleaning
products stored under the sink are toxic if ingested.

Prevented accidents by installing safety locks on cabinets to keep sharp tools and cleaning supplies
out of reach, and explain the dangers to your child. A little education goes a long way in creating safer
habits.

Bathrooms:
Bathrooms can get slippery and lead to accidents when children play in them alone. Even shallow
water in a tub can pose a drowning hazard, and medications may tempt little hands.

Always supervise kidz during bath time, and drain tubs immediately after use. Store medications and
personal care items in high, secured cabinets to prevent accidental ingestion.

Garages:
While some families keep children's bikes and other outdoor toys in the garage for easy access, garages
also often house heavy tools, chemicals, and vehicles. This makes garages risky areas for unsupervised
kidz.

Tools can fall, and automotive fluids or paint products may cause harm if mishandled. Lock away tools
and hazardous substances in secure storage, and unplug power tools when not in use. Keep vehicle
keys and remotes out of reach. It is easy to overlook garage doors, but remember that they are heavy
machinery and can cause serious harm.

Staircases:
We all remember wanting to slide down the banister; however, it's not a good idea for kidz to play around
the steps. Falls can results in sprains, broken bones, or worse. Toys or clutter left on stairs further increase
these chances.

Install safety gates at the top and bottom of staircase, especially for younger children. Make sure stairs
are always well-lit and clear of obstacles.

Laundry Rooms Or Basements:
Theses areas may seem less risky but often contain hidden dangers. Detergents and cleaning products
are toxic if ingested.

Unfortunately, brightly colored liquids and pods can look sweets to children. Store cleaning supplies in
high, locked cabinets, and use organizers to keep the floor clear.

A Safer Home For Everyone:
You don't need to fear every inch of your home. However, awareness and proactive measures can help
you manage areas where kidz shouldn't be left unsupervised. Introducing simple precautions like locks,
education, and proper storage reduces risks and creates a safe home filled with joy.

Public Restrooms:
Unpredictable individuals can take advantage of the privacy in these spaces. It's best to go with your
child or choose family restrooms when available.
